Ultra Shine & The Aurora Collection Launched Globally

Jotun, the world's leading paint and coatings supplier, has strengthened its diverse powder coatings range with the introduction of Ultra Shine and The Aurora collection. Boasting new technological advances, these new innovations provide sustainable and environmentally-friendly solutions in powder coating technology.

Inspired by the enchanting Northern Lights, The Aurora Collection builds on the brand's promise for innovative, eco-friendly products. Useable on both aluminum and steel, the coatings provide an impeccable metallic effect and noticeable consistency in application, hiding any substrate imperfections, whilst also minimising a negative effect on the environment. Using 40 times less water, 10 times less electricity and 20 times less gas, the production process saves time and natural resources whilst keeping a high-performance and consistent finish.

The Aurora Collection is available in 11 captivating and stylish colours and sets a new benchmark for high-quality and durable products.

Ultra Shine is a sustainable powder alternative to the chrome plating process and has a minimal negative effect on the environment. Ultra Shine provides a safe alternative to these problems, with the production process using less energy and water, as well as reducing health risks to the workforce.

Retaining the coveted bright 'mirror' appearance, Ultra Shine enjoys all the benefits of powder technology, in addition to the capability of increasing production capacity by over 10 times, resulting in a 70 per cent decrease in cost. Designed for  aluminum and steel, it meets the rigorous demands of the furniture industry.

Olaf Conreur, Global Marketing Director at Jotun Powder Coatings comments: 'At Jotun Powder Coatings, we have been providing consultants and engineers with high quality, cost effective, sustainable and protective powder coating solutions for many years. Our products are known for withstanding extreme levels of UV light, various levels of humidity, corrosion and other environmental pollutants to preserve their strength and appearance.' 'Sustainability is so important when developing our products, especially in a region which is susceptible to such harsh climates. Our products are designed to meet the latest industry standards and always developed with the environment in mind. The Aurora Collection and Ultra Shine were the results of a long journey of research and development and it is important we provide our customers with the latest technology and trends in powder coatings.'

Engineers Refine Thermal Protection System for Orion’s Next MissionOrion Spacecraft in Orbit
When it comes to a spacecraft enduring the extremely hot and fast journey from deep space back to Earth, NASA's Orion can withstand the heat. Engineers developing Orion's thermal protection system have been improving the spacecraft's heat shield design and manufacturing process since the vehicle successfully traveled to space for the first time last year. They are now enhancing the overall system in advance of the spacecraft's next mission - a flight that will put Orion through the harshest set of conditions yet.

For these future Orion missions, a silver, metallic-based thermal control coating will also be bonded to the crew module's thermal protection system back shell tiles. The coating, similar to what is used on the main heat shield, will reduce heat loss during phases when Orion is pointed to space and therefore experiencing cold temperatures, as well as limit the high temperatures the crew module will be subjected to when the spacecraft faces the sun. The coating will help Orion's back shell maintain a temperature range from approximately -150 to 550 degrees Fahrenheit prior to entry and also will protect against electrical surface charges in space and during re-entry. <more>

12 November 2015
parts2clean 2016 (31 May -- 2 June):
parts2clean - prime source of industrial cleaning solutions and know-how-- The world's leading trade fair for the cleaning of parts and surfaces -- Rising demand for efficient and sustainable cleaning solutions

Hannover. Regardless of whether the cleaning task at hand is highly complex or fairly simple, the cleanliness of surfaces and components and the removal of all contaminants is a critical factor for the quality of subsequent processing steps, and indeed of the finished product. Consequently, the demand for cleaning solutions that are efficient, sustainable and produce consistently  reliable results is on the rise around the globe. parts2clean -- which takes  place in Stuttgart -- has built an international reputation as an unparalleled source of all the necessary solutions and expertise.

'The quota of decision-makers attending parts2clean is higher than average. Around 80 percent of the visitors come to the show with a view to investing in  new technology", explained Olaf Daebler, the director in charge of parts2clean at Deutsche Messe. "For exhibitors that means plenty of serious inquiries and ideal opportunities for talking business with new customers."This is confirmed by Roland Jung, head of surface technology at Hermann Bantleon GmbH: "At the 2015 show, we again had many visitors coming to our stand with specific  projects and issues. Some of these were new contacts, and very promising  ones, too." It is no surprise, then, that the Leading International Trade Fair for Industrial Parts and Surface Cleaning is regarded by the industry as an absolute must. "It's important for us to come here and present our broad range of products to the market. After all, parts2clean is the platform that customers look to for information about solutions for their cleaning challenges and the latest developments in the field", said Walter Muck from the marketing department at Pero AG.

The No.1 source of expert know-how on industrial parts cleaning

But it's not just the comprehensive array of exhibits covering every sector and every type of material that draws the visitors. The three-day parts2clean Industry Forum is also a big part of the attraction. With an average of more than 25 presentations, which are simultaneously translated (German <> English), the Forum offers valuable know-how on a variety of topics of importance to each and every stage of the process chain for cleaning industrial parts and surfaces. The 2016 event will offer separate sessions on "cleaning approaches",'upstream and downstream processes', and "analytics". Also planned are two blocks of presentations to be held by industrial users. The one block will deal with cleaning applications in specific fields such as medical technology, electronics production, the automotive industry, the aerospace industry, plastics, and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO). The other topic block will address "engineering for cleanliness", with presentations by users on aspects such as cleaning-friendly design and construction, ways of rendering cleaning unnecessary, and clean- friendly production. Presentations may be submitted at www.parts2clean.de under "Program / Expert Forum".

Guided Tours -- the shortcut to valuable expertise and contacts

The Guided Tours program offered as a service for visitors has proven so popular that it is being expanded for parts2clean 2016. The tours enable visitors to efficiently increase their know-how on everything of special interestto them. It is a quick and easy way to discover relevant solutions and innovations and identify potential solution-providers. The Guided Tours are also highly beneficial for participating exhibitors, enabling them to present their products and innovations to a choice, pre-selected audience right at their stands, resulting in additional contacts and sales prospects.

Parallel events of relevance to industrial cleaning

In parallel with parts2clean (31 May to 2 June 2016), several other trade fairs in which parts cleaning plays an essential role are also taking place at the exhibition center in Stuttgart. The various coating processes featured at O&S, the International Trade Fair for Surface Treatments and Coatings, all require a scrupulously clean substrate. LASYS, the International Trade Fair for Laser Materials Processing, showcases laser applications across all sectors of industry and for all types of materials, and here, too, the right outcome often depends on having a clean surface to start with. And also for many of those attending AUTOMOTIVE Expo -- a group of five trade fairs covering different aspects of the automotive industry -- the cleaning of parts and surfaces is likewise of great importance for manufacturing operations.

Deutsche Messe AG

With revenue of 280 million euros (2014), Deutsche Messe AG ranks among the world's ten largest trade fair companies and operates the world's largest exhibition center. In 2014, Deutsche Messe planned and staged 134 trade fairs and congresses around the world -- events which hosted a total of over 41,000 exhibitors and some 3.6 million visitors. The company's event portfolio includes such world-leading trade fairs as CeBIT (IT and telecommunications), HANNOVER MESSE (industrial technology), BIOTECHNICA/LABVOLUTION (biotechnology and lab technology), CeMAT (intralogistics), didacta (education), DOMOTEX (floor coverings), INTERSCHUTZ (fire prevention and Deutsche Messe AGMessegelande
