Paints margins under pressure
Asian Paints has seen a sharp
drop in operating profit margin from 17.14 per cent at the end of the March
quarter to 16.78 per cent for the quarter ended June. The operating profit
margin in the April-June quarter a year ago was 23.74 per cent.
Kansai Nerolac's operating profit margin was also at 15.79 per cent at the
end of the June quarter compared with 15.97 per cent at the end of the March
quarter and 19.85 per cent in the April-June quarter a year ago. Berger
Paints and Akzo Nobel are yet to disclose their quarterly results.<more>
H M Bharuka appointed as director on Board of Kansai Paints
Mumbai, Jul 4 (PTI) Kansai Nerolac Paints today said its vice chairman and
managing director H M Bharuka has been appointed as director on the Board of
Kansai Paints, Japan.
“The selection makes Bharuka the first non-Japanese to be appointed to the
Board of Kansai Paints, Japan,” the company said in a statement.
In this new role, Bharuka will contribute towards international business and
strategy of Kansai Paints Group, while continuing to be the vice chairman
and managing director of Kansai Nerolac Paints India. <more>
Nerolac Paints Q1 net up 11.31% at Rs 140.81 cr
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 126.50 crore in the year-ago
period.
Kansai Nerolac Paints today reported 11.31 per cent growth in net profit at
Rs 140.81 crore for the quarter ended June 30.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 126.50 crore in the year-ago
period.
Its total income for the period grew 10.91 per cent to Rs 1,343.93 crore
from Rs 1,211.71 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, the company

of selling paint which gave off a rotting animal smell.

urine.
A Valspar statement read: "The ammonia-type odour occurs very rarely and
when used on walls that are particularly porous, and where the wall is
exposed to excessive heat or direct sunlight. The odour naturally wears off
over time.
"We are working with B&Q to support our customers. We apologise for any
inconvenience caused and ask that anyone similarly affected contact B&Q’s
