The inauguration of
Kansai Paints Lanka (Private) Limited was held on the morning of April 26.
The factory is a joint venture with Kansai Nerolac Paints and Capital
Holdings Maharaja Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of The Capital Maharaja Organisation
Limited, alongside Kansai Paints, Japan.
The inauguration of the factory, located in the Koggala Investment Zone, was
attended by a number of senior officials of the Capital Maharaja

Paint company Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd (KNPL) announced its association
with Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise as 'Official Sponsor for the 10th edition
of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which begins here on Wednesday.
This year, the defending champions will carry Kansai Nerolac's logo on their
helmets as part of this association, according to a release.<more>

coatings is a segment which is of paint but we were not there in it so it is
net addition as far as we are concerned both in terms of revenue and in

ET Now: You were outlining the size of the market for marine paints I
particularly want to know how much market share are you hoping to garner
within that pie?
Abhijit Roy: Within that pie we are expecting that in the short run we
should be able to get about 10-12% and then gradually scale it up because
there are not too many competitors into this, all are well known players and
each one has its own strength and I think we should be able to gain with our
production capacity and ability to service the market. I think we should get
about 20% sharein the medium term. <more>

Berger Paints India
Limited ('the Company') has commenced commercial production of its
integrated paint and putty plant at Naltali, Nagaon, Assam on 30th March,
2017. The plant has an annual capacity of 48,000 KL/MT per annum of water
based paints, 24,000 KL of solvent based paints, 14,000 MT of Resin and
24,000 MT of wall putty.<more>
Berger Paints is eyeing
double-digit growth in 2017-18 with new plants in Assam and Maharashtra
starting operations.
The company has set up an integrated facility at Naltali, in Nagaon (Assam)
with annual capacity of 48,000 kilolitres of water-based paints and 24,000
kilolitres of solvent-based paints.
The plant also has a capacity to annually produce 14000 tonnes of resin and
24000 tonnes of wall putty. This plant is in addition to the Nalbari plant
from the British Paints division with capacity of 6,600 kilolitres per

Ltd (BIPL) has today completed the transaction for a consideration of LKR
(Lankan Rupee) 9,050 million (approximately Rs 386.75 crore) in cash, Asian
Paint said in a BSE filing.
Asian Paints today said its subsidiary Berger International has fully
acquired Sri Lanka's Causeway Paints in an all cash deal of Rs 387 crore.<more>

German chemical giant BASF,
luxury car manufacturer Audi and high-tech polymer maker Covestro have
developed their first product together: a clearcoat for cars designed to
lower energy use.
Using a biobased hardener made by Covestro, BASF developed the coating,
which has been tested on a fleet of Audi Q2 vehicles.
The coating helps resist scratches, protects against wear-and-tear and gives
cars a glossy look. The companies say it is also comprised of 70 percent
renewable materials, which reduces fossil fuel consumption.
"Our new clearcoat helps our customers to reach their sustainability
targets, without having to compromise in terms of quality and performance," Matthijs Groenewolt, head of clearcoat and topcoat development Europe at
