Asian Paints to commission first phase of Pudi unit this fiscal
It plans to expand capacity to five lakh kl per annum
Asian Paints, one of the top five leading painting companies in
Asia, will commission the first phase of its painting plant in
Visakhapatnam district during the current financial year.

produce three lakh kilo litres each from its Greenfield facilities

Golden Gate Bridge trolley system would ease burden on maintenance
workers
A trolley system might roll onto the Golden Gate Bridge next year,
but not for passengers. It will ferry workers up the sloped cables
that run from each tower of the bridge.
The trolley would include eight enclosed aluminum platforms, each

profit at Rs 139.84 crore for the quarter ended June 30.
It had posted a net profit of Rs 140.81 crore in the corresponding

estimates
Asian Paints on Tuesday posted 30.56 per cent rise in consolidated
profit at Rs 558.02 crore for the quarter ended June 2018. It has
posted a net profit of Rs 427.41 crore in the corresponding quarter

Paints in price relief pledge after GST cut
The paints industry expects to pass on the benefit of a lower GST
rate to consumers. The GST Council has decided to lower the rate on
paints by 10 per cent at its meeting on Saturday.
"The benefits of lower tax rates will be entirely passed on to the
consumers. With raw material prices to be hopefully stable in the
near term, consumers stand to benefit from the lower GST rates.
There will be some deferment of purchase in July but this is
temporary. But from August, we expect sales to pick up. This is a
welcome move before the festive season," Abhijit Roy, president of
the Indian Paints Association, told The Telegraph.<more>
